What is it?-
Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto the surface of another metal.
Our gold jewelry has a base metal of 925 Sterling Silver then a 1 Micron Plating of 18k Yellow Gold.
How to care for it?
Lets be real when we spend the extra $ we want to be able to wear our pieces as much as possible so, when you can try these tips to get the most out of your plating.
Remove your gold jewelry before you swim in chlorine or salt water
Remove your jewelry before working out or activities that will cause you to sweat a lot
If you can,
Wait to put on your jewelry until after you have applied lotion, makeup or perfume
So to simplify keep your jewels dry as much as possible!
Normal things to happen to 925 Sterling Silver and Gold Plated SS -
Silver tarnish is the discoloration of sterling silver items which can take on a yellow, purple or black tint. Although the pure silver in sterling silver does not react and tarnish at room temperature, the other metals that make up 7.5% can easily react with the salt and sulfur in the air, making sterling silver oxidize.
To restore your items back to their bright, shiny and poppin' looks simply purchase one of our professional grade silver cloths (no the amazon versions do not work sorry) and you'll be good as new!
